According to official information, the deceased pilots were identified as Flight Lieutenant Muhammad Qasim Abdullah and Lieutenant Taha Abbasi. The trainer aircraft went down in the Sawaldher area near Mardan, resulting in a fiery crash that scattered wreckage across the impact site.
Eyewitnesses reported that the aircraft appeared to falter in the air moments before it crashed. Despite the emergency situation, the pilots reportedly steered the aircraft away from densely populated areas, preventing a potentially larger disaster. As a result, only two passersby sustained injuries on the ground.

The PAC MFI-395 Super Mushshak, a turboprop trainer aircraft widely used for pilot training, was conducting a routine flight when the accident occurred. Pakistan Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, along with other senior leaders, expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two officers and paid tribute to their service and sacrifice. Messages of condolence were extended to the families of the deceased pilots.
An official inquiry has been launched to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and to establish whether technical failures or other factors contributed to the accident. The incident has once again drawn attention to the risks faced by military aviators during training operations and the sacrifices made in the line of duty.
